Happy Notes from Happy Parents

Chris' Mom

I remember coming to your Music Together® class with Chris when he was a toddler about 17 years ago. We still randomly blurt out "kookaburra, Kookaburra, down, down, under, under..." after all these years !! My testimonial is on his behalf....today he is a musician that has already been exposed to so many awesome experiences and opportunities through music. He is pursuing a degree in Music Education with plans to share a love of music with others. :) Thank you for starting the path of a lifelong love for music for him! ( Chris is now a Music Teacher)

Dee C.

I was a Preschool Director all those years ago. I loved the Music Together program. It introduced children to much more than classroom teachers had in their musical repertoire. Children learned rhythm, beat, melody, tone, classic songs-and so much more. They were actively engaged in the process. The format was quite structured but so flexible at the same time. The pace was varied and before we knew it, the session was over. But the parents were then well-equiped to follow through at home. Gen, you were such a super teacher/leader. You understood how, why, when and where. Your joy was contagious. i don't ever remember a complaint or resistance for a child or parent. I have recently been involved with Music Together with my three little grandchildren who love it. What beautiful memories came back. Thanks ever so much for bringing Music Together to my preschool, to the children, their parents and to me. So much for Mary Had a Little Lamb and The Wheels on the Bus!!!!

Joanne, William's Grandma

When I was teaching preschool we had Music Together come in and the kids were so excited to have music time. I am now lucky enough to be bringing my grandson to the classes Music is so important to a developing mind!

Music Together® and Their Research

Research was the basis for the Music Together® classes when it started back in 1987 and now it has spread to over 43 countries and in 4000 communities worldwide. In addition to parent-child classes, Music Together® now offers baby specific classes, mixed age classes, Rhythm Kids classes (for 4-8yr olds), Guitar classes for adults, Music Together® In-School classes (for students up to 2nd grade) Generations classes (for children, their parents and residents of adult communities), Music Together® within therapy classes, and outreach programs too.

The Music Together® philosophy is based on these 4 basic principles:

  1. All children are musical.

  2. All children can achieve basic music competence—the ability to sing in tune and move with accurate rhythm.

  3. The participation and modeling of parents and caregivers—regardless of their musical ability—are essential to a child's musical growth.

  4. Young children’s musical growth occurs best in a playful, musically rich, and developmentally appropriate setting.
